SIP’s

SIP’s ADVANTAGE
SIP’s ( Structured Insulated Panels) were developed in the early 1950’s by the Department of Agriculture. The goal was to have a product that is super strong and energy efficient for its weight. The insulation core has improved over the years. Today SIP’s are the fastest growing building material in the United States.
ULTRA HIGH ENERGY EFFICIENT
SIP’s save energy in two ways. 1) The R-27 in the 4” wall and the R41 in the 6” is 2-3 times more insulated than standard construction. 2)The solid homogeneous material greatly reduces air infiltration or air leakage in the home. These 2 items together can reduce the energy to heat and cool a building as much as 50%.
MONEY IN YOUR POCKET THE FIRST YEAR
SIP’s do cost more than standard construction. This usually means you will be mortgaging more money. When you combine the utility savings and the tax advantage from the larger mortgage, you more than overcome the added cost of the increased mortgage. In other words you have more money in your pocket from day one when you put your money in the right place ( valuable assets) and aren’t giving it away (the utility company)
INCREASED EQUITY IN THE HOME
The material used in building a SIP’s home has a higher “appraised value” than a standard built home. This increased “asset value” will continue to increase as the house appreciates.
QUALITY BENEFITS THAT YOU WANT
*HEALTHY – Less airborne contaminants, no drafts, control air quality
*SAFETY –Increased protection from earthquakes, wind , projectiles and fire.
*DURABLE – Does not deteriorate , dryout, become loose, or creak with age.
*COMFORTABLE – Quieter, fewer insects, solid feel of walls, stable air temperature.
*QUALITY – Walls are straighter and flatter, insulation always uniform, no thermal shorts or voids.
*ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY –Green Building System

“We would definitely recommend ICS SIPs. We’re happy with it. When the wind blows, you can hardly hear it. We’d definitely recommend you.”
